Every movie goes through three stages of development.
To begin with the producer must have an idea, this idea will come from his imagination or even a real life story. The plot to the movie will be changed and developed to its best.
Story board will be created to give an idea or at least a basic understanding of what the movie is about. The story will be worked on with his crew who will then find what actors will best suit the characters in the film.
The post production starts to develop by filming and shooting scenes. This gives the editors of the movie something to work with, they cut and fine tune all the scenes of the movie to give it its final edit. From this point the editors add special effects and sound tracks to make the movie more appealing.
Distribution
When the movie has reached its final version its time to get the movie to the audience. This is sometimes the hardest stage for some producers. Money is a big deal here.Distributors are likely to go for release on a popular weekend as oppose to a busy week when people are unlikely to visit the cinema. This is done so the movie gets as many views as possible; which leads to more money coming in for the developers.

Marketing
The movie gets its publicity by advertising their movie to the public.
They try to make advertising for the movie cheap but efficient.
Types of adverting are; Trailers, bus ads, happy meals.
Teen movies are most likely advertised on social sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
Movies that are targeted to older people are advertised after the news or different shows.
Exhibition
After all the process of making the movie the final stage is to get the movie out to the audience.
The main target is the Cinema, this is where the movie is more likely to make big money.
Movies are also shows on the TV and other online websites such as Netflix and Lovefilm. The movie is the put on DVD which also leads to more income for the producers.
However small time films are not aloud to present their movie in cinemas, they are aloud to show them in small movie festivals and other ways. But only big production movies are aloud to show their movie in cinemas for example: Step Brothers.
